Grant Writing Procedures and Requirements 

Remember, every grantor has its own procedures and requirements. Make sure you read the RFP carefully. Over 50% of proposals are rejected because the writer did not follow the RFP requirements or missed something outlined in the RFP. Excellence in planning, grant application writing, and processes for carrying out a project are critical to your success, the success of your agency's project, and your success with future grants. 

Start the process right where you are. Know your agency well—its goals, resources, work, problems, and performance evaluation standards.
